Donne in Famiglia

Donne in Famiglia is a personal visual project about sisterhood. In most countries, young and old freely mix together, with several generations often living under one roof. But in Europe, research shows that this inter-generational cocktail is now mostly happening in the workplace. Even so, new generations tend to stick with their same-aged cohort. How do different generation within the same family interact? For this collaborative project I join forces with my sister, exploring our connection since 2016, and the lives of our mother and grandmothers. We improvise film and audio sessions, using photography to express ourselves and collective family traditions. In 2021, as a result of my pregnancy and the welcoming of a new baby girl, we have integrated a new generation to this family exploration as well. Ongoing.
